Break Recap - Highlights of 2 NFL Breaks

Hello all! Again, I am behind on Break Recaps, so I am going to a recap of NFL breaks and separate recap for the MLB highlights. There were 2 NFL breaks this past week. I am liking the football breaks more and more. Plus it's getting to watch the league more. It's been a fun way to spend the MLB off-season! Our first NFL this week was apart of Cyber Weekend promotion. We broke two boxes of Prizm on Monday evening and had a blast. A few nice hits made it for a fun break. Only disappointing thing was two of our "autos" were Panini Points cards. I like to have the auto in the box! The second break was a "mini-mixer" that featured a box of Phoenix and a box of Luminance. Another solid break! Pho

Break Recap - Triple Threads #3 - 11/10/18

This was round 5 of our Triple Threads breaks. TTT continues to impress with yet another quality break. We had another major Cardinals hit, a beautiful triple patch, and a hall of famer relic. Check out the hit and numbered cards below... (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) Some nice stuff coming out of Triple Threads once again. The highlight definitely being the Yadi Auto Triple Relic! The relics were better than our second auto in my opinion. Always good to get Chipper stuff, and added bonus the breaker that randomly got the Jones is a huge fan. I love when that happens. The Santana triple relic is a really nice piece in person. Some solid numbered cards to go with the hits.

Break Recap - NFL Phoenix - 11/18/18

I'll say it again...I really enjoy breaking Phoenix. There will be more. On Sunday night, we broke 2 boxes of Panini Phoenix. We broke one box in a mixer last week, and I wanted to do two boxes by itself because of all the fun stuff that came out of one box. Two boxes did not disappoint one bit. There are a lot of fun numbered cards to get to go with 4 autos and 2 relics (total of both boxes). The card design is crisp with a high quality chrome finish. For the value and quality, it might be my favorite of the year, including baseball! Let's get to the highlights... (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) BAKER! BAKER! BAKER! A MONSTER of a hit to cap a really fun break from Phoenix

Break Recap - Mixer #10 - 11/13/18

Mixer #10 Broke on Friday and it delivered big time! This was the same lineup as Mixer #9, it featured Topps Chrome Jumbo, Gold Label, Topps High Tek, and Archives Snapshots. We were looking for 9 autos and lots of numbered parallels. There were some monsters that came out of this break! Let's get to the highlights and I'll recap after... (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) What a break!?! The Topps Chrome box was struggling until the Hoskins hit and then High Tek delivered big time to end the break. Three monsters in this one! Congrats to those who got the nice cards we hit. The Will Clark was an awesome hit out of High Tek, numbered to /25! Then to finish with the Kris Bryant

Break Recap - Highlights I missed from the week

This has been a hectic week and there were 3 breaks that I wasn't able to do full recaps on. This recap will feature highlights from the following three breaks (more details about the breaks at the bottom) 1 - Chronicles Division Break 2 - Triple Threads #4 Drafting Format 3 - Topps Chrome Update 10-Mega Box Break - Random Division Take a look at the highlights! (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) Three breaks this week and all had a very different feel and different outcomes. We opened a wide variety of boxes this week and I am looking forward to more! Break 1 - Chronicles - This was a "pick your division" break, just like the other one we did recently. Pricing was tweaked a b

Break Recap - Mixer #9 - 11/13/18

On Tuesday, we broke MLB Mixer #9. As many of the other breaks, this had some really nice hits in it. This break had a different lineup. it featured Topps Chrome Jumbo, Gold Label, Topps High Tek, and Archives Snapshots. We were looking for 9 autos and lots of numbered parallels. this was a really good lineup and Mixer #10 will be the same lineup. Let's get to the highlights... (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) Another great Mixer break! This one featured two retired players are people still like to collect. Dwight Gooden hit out of High Tek was numbered to 75, and Andruw Jones hit out of Archives Snapshots. It was cool to get Gooden as a Yankee for once. Lots of colored and

Break Recap - Upper Deck Series 1 Break #1 - 11/11/18

Upper Deck Series 1 released last Thursday, so we decided to get in on the chase for Young Guns by breaking a few boxes. The NHLPA has a rule stating no player can be featured on a licensed trading card until appearing in an official NHL game. This means that Upper Deck Series 1 is the first opportunity to pull a player's primary (and most popular) rookie card, known as "Young Guns". Upper Deck Series 1 has a 250 card base set featuring 50 Young Guns rookies. There are also several insert sets, some common and some very rare. Autographs are a case hit and jersey cards fall roughly one every other box on average. We were rewarded on our Young Guns search with one of the bigger rookies in the

Break Recap - NFL Mixer #1 - 11/11

We continued our NFL breaking on Sunday night with our first NFL Mixer! This break features 1 box each of 2018 Prizm, Illusions, and Phoenix. I was very impressed with all three products we opened up. I really liked Phoenix, especially at the value (Phoenix break has been planned). This break was a ton of fun and we got some really nice cards. Including a one of our of top 10 pulls that we have had! These three sets look very different, but are formatted similarly. We were looking for 8 Autos and 3 Relics. Each set had colored parallels and a lot of them were numbered. It was actually difficult picking cards for this post so that it didn't go on and on. Let's get to the highlights! BOOM! Bar

Break Recap - Triple Threads #3 - 11/10/18

This was round 3 of our Triple Threads breaks (recap of previous 2). Another solid break from Triple Threads. We had a redemption out of this box, but it was a little bit of a let down after seeing what some of the other redemptions are coming out of Triple Threads. It was solid insert with a /99 print run so it wasn't a terrible hit by any means. Check out the hit and numbered cards below... (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) A cool Contreras auto to go with our Devers redemption. A nice signature relic card out of 75. We hit another nice Ozzie Smith card in this break. Solid numbered cards but nothing lower than the /99 Ortiz. Not the best box of TTT we have opened so far bu

Break Recap - Triple Threads #1 & #2 - 11/8/18

Topps Triple Threads (TTT) finally was released and we broke our first two boxes. It was a blast and I can't wait to more. I was surprised seeing how pretty the cards are in 2018 from Triple Threads. I have never been a huge fan, but things are different this more and I can't wait to break more. Placing an order for more ASAP. Things to look for in TTT are the colored parallels and numbered cards. They are know for one of kind relics and autos. You'll see by some of the highlights below. Everyone was really excited to finally get into TTT since the release date had been pushed back. Take a look at what we got out of the first two boxes. We were not disappointed... Break Recap - Reddit Mixer #3 - 11/7/18

The Second break of the night on Thursday was a break for the folks on the /r/baseballcard on Reddit. This was the third mixer I have done this way and all have been a lot of fun! I used the same lineup as Mixer #8, the previous night. The lineup included the following 5 boxes: Topps Stadium Club, Topps Finest, Topps Archives Snapshots, Topps Gold Label, and Topps High Tek (not to be confused with Bowman High Tek). Lots of fun stuff came out of this break, including another 1/1! Congrats to the Cardinals who did really well in this break. Let's get to the highlights... (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) Really happy to pull another 1/1! Really sweet Ozuna, and the Orange to go

Break Recap - Topps High Tek/Bowman High Tek Division Break - 11/8/18

The first of two break on Thursday started with another division break. We broke 2 boxes each of Topps High Tek and Bowman High Tek. We were looking for 12 Autos. We got some nice ones, but we also got some nice numbered cards as well. High Tek is becoming one of my favorite sets, simply because I love acetate card and the different patterns (even though they are hard to keep track of). I was able to tier the prices and I think the value per spot was spot on for this break. Lets look at the highlights! (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) A rare break where the HIT OF THE NIGHT wasn't an auto. But an Ohtani Red Diffractor numbered out of 10 surely qualifies for the Hit of the Ni

Break Recap - Mixer #8 - 11/6/18

Tonight we dug into our 8th baseball mixer break featuring a 5 boxes: Topps Stadium Club, Topps Finest, Topps Archives Snapshots, Topps Gold Label, and Topps High Tek (not to be confused with Bowman High Tek). These mixers are always a lot of fun and tend to fill up pretty quickly. This is the first mixer break to include Topps High Tek, and it will definitely be coming back in the future. In total, we picked up 8 autos and a handful of low numbered parallels. (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) Some of the highlights of the break were the Syndergaard auto, the Cal Ripken Jr. orange parallel /25, and the Ohtani from Gold Label. The Ohtani was a Class 3 Black Parallel. Honorab

Break Recap - NFL Unparalleled 17/18 - 11/4/18

More NFL broke on Sunday and we got an absolute banger! This break features one box of Unparalleled from 2017 & 2018 and there was some really fun stuff. This set features lots of color, numbered cards, and parallels. Our 2017 box had a hot box feel to it as every card seemed to be a pattern. This was also box that our HIT OF THE NIGHT came from. Let's get right into the highlights because they are awesome! (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) The Jerry Rice makes this an A from me. It is the best all time player auto I have ever pulled. It was pretty awesome, I must admit. The way the hits went, most went to the randomized teams. I hope everyone enjoys what they got from this b

Break Recap - Gold Label #2 - 11/1/18

Our Second Gold Label break was on Thursday night. We broke 5 boxes of Gold Label just like the first one. This break didn't deliver quite like the other. There was another big Dodger hit. Verdugo cards just keep coming! When breaking Gold Label, we are obviously looking for the Gold Framed Autos, but also the parallels and numbered cards a lot of fun to get. We got two sweet numbered Ted Williams cards. Gold Label is still one of my favorite products to break. I love the different classes and the parallels are a lot of fun. (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) We got some solid hits out of Gold Label this time around. The Verdugo auto being the highlight, the Happ and Nola numb

Break Recap - Mixer #7 - 10/30/18

Mixer 7 broke on Tuesday. It was another great break with a couple of really nice hits. This one consisted of Topps Chrome Jumbo, Archives, Bowman High Tek, and Clearly Authentic. We got 13 autos instead of the 12 that we were promised. Always a nice surprise! (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) I'm sorry for the quality of these images but you get the idea. The Chris Sale was a sharp card to pull and the last card mojo hit Roddy again to hit the really nice Albies out of Clearly Authentic. The Hoskins gold rc out of High Tek was a nice get for a non-auto. Thanks everyone for joining this break and look for Mixer 8! GRADE THE BREAK A Interested in joining a break? See what we h

Break Recap - Chronicles Division Break - 10/30/18

We had another first at the Card Swap...we did out first division break! This was with 2 boxes of Panini Chronicles baseball. A major reason I chose this format with Chronicles was due to how lopsided the team distribution was for Chronicles. This did not help the break down. The AL Central and the NL west were still very light and I plan to hook those guys up. The AL East and NL East were absolutely packed. If you aren't familiar with Chronicles, it features 15 different subsets made by Panini. It was unexpectedly a lot of fun this year. Last years release was very boring but this year was packed with fun cards to get. (click the gallery to switch to a slider gallery) Some really nice hits
