Break Recap - Super Mixer #4

On Wednesday we ran another super mixer! The super mixers have been giving us chances for a lot of great hits and we definitely pulled some in this one. Here's a box by box breakdown of what we pulled out of seven boxes with 27 expected hits:

2019 Topps Series One Jumbo: We busted a jumbo of flagship that promised two relics and one auto. Our first hit out of Jumbo was a Matt Chapman Legacy of Baseball auto for the A's, numbered out of 150. The relics were a 150th Anniversary medallion of Max Scherzer and a nice jersey relic of Jean Segura for the Mariners. A lot of duplicates in the base cards, but always nice to break some flagship. No color or autos pulled from the silver packs, but the cards look really sleek in the '84 design.

2018 Bowman Hi Tek: We've had a lot of fun with breaking this set. This product has ten cards and four autos per box. A quick break, but a lot of ink. Autos included: Adam Haseley (Phillies) base auto, Evan White(Mariners) base auto, Andres Gimenez(Mets) green out of 99 auto, and the big hit of the box, a Ronald Acuna redemption base auto.

2018 Panini Chronicles: Chronicles is a pretty loaded product with fifteen different insert sets, which makes it a nice choice for a mixer. Each box has three autos and one relic card. Our autos from this box were Dillon Peters(Marlins) in the Phoenix design, Zach Granite for the Twins out of the Panini set, and an auto/relic of the Orioles' Chance Sisco in the Spectra set. A nice bat relic of Mike Piazza for the Dodgers numbered out of 99 was our memorabilia hit. Chronicles also has a large amount of numbered cards. Notable numbered cards here featured George Brett, Francisco Lindor, Yadier Molina, Buster Posey and Bryce Harper. This box was slightly disappointing compared to some of our other recent breaks of Chronicles, but we still pulled some nice cards.

2018 Topps Hi Tek: There's 40 cards per box, with two autos in each box here. Cards feature different patterns for the NL and the AL, with four designs in each league, increasing in rarity from one to four. Our autos were a base Tyler Mahle for the Reds and an orange Gary Sanchez Orbit diffractor numbered out of 25. Numbered cards of Anthony Santander and Anthony Rizzo rounded out the box.

2018 Leaf Metal Draft: Metal Draft features six autos per box, already in toploaders, with many great prospects. Our autos were Parker Meadows(Tigers) /15, Joe Gray(Brewers) /5, Jeisson Rosario(Padres), Estevan Florial(Yankees), a yellow printing plate 1/1 of Jordan Groshans for the Blue Jays, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. for the Blue Jays. The Vlad Guerrero Jr. auto was a great pull and the first one we've gotten here. A really nice box of Metal Draft and an especially nice box for the Blue Jays.

2018 Bowman's Best: Four autos per box here, in a set that's mostly geared towards prospects but also features some established players. Autos included Logan Gilbert for the Mariners, Shane McClanahan for the Rays, Justin Williams for the Rays, and Keibert Ruiz for the Dodgers. We also pulled a really nice red refractor of Alex Thomas(Diamondbacks) /10. A little disappointing to just get base autos out of this box, as usually we pull a numbered auto out of each master box.

2018 Topps Triple Threads: Two autos and two relics per box in Triple Threads, a set that features a lot of nice patches and ink. Each box contains two mini boxes. We pulled a green parallel Johnny Bench /259 and a purple Randy Johnson for the Mariners /299 in the first mini box. Our first auto/relic was a really nice Dennis Eckersley for the A's numbered to three. Our other hit was a jumbo relic of J.D. Martinez for the Red Sox /36. The second mini box had numbered cards of Dustin Pedroia(Purple /299) and Josh Donaldson(/199). Our relic was a really nice All-Star game jumbo patch of Zack Greinke numbered out of 9. Our last hit was an auto/relic of Alex Wood numbered out of 75.

Check out the highlights below:

Some really excellent hits in this mixer. The Acuna redemption, the numbered Sanchez auto, the printing plate Jordan Groshans, the Vlad Jr. auto, and the Eckersley numbered auto were all great pulls. The boxes of Chronicles and Bowman's Best were slightly disappointing compared to what we've pulled before from those products, but there were a lot of nice cards overall to make this a great mixer.
