MLB Mixer Recap

Clearly Authentic was supposed to drop on Wednesday, but Topps pulled this until October. Luckily, we had a couple Archives Signature as a fill in. This break consisted of Stadium Club, Bowman Platinum, Finest, Inception, Archives Signatures, Tier One, and Museum Collection.

Check out the highlights...

First up, Stadium Club. Most known for the card art and parallels, it did not disappoint. A handful of red and black foil (most notably Pujols, Roger Maris, and Warp Speed insert Billy Hamilton), lead up to the peak card of a Yadier Molina Lone Star Signature /25. Others to note: Josh Rogers RC Auto, Tony Gwynn Beam Team, Pete Alonso base RC, Fernando Tatis Jr base RC, Mookie Betts box topper.

Second, Bowman Platinum. A Wal-Mart exclusive, Bowman is known to be the place to grab the first card of any MLB player. Featured here were Seth Beer Blue Parallel /150, Vlad Jr SP, and Pete Alonso SP. The two autographs were Justus Sheffield Renowned Rookies /50 and Pablo Olivares base Auto. Others to note: Vlad Jr Prismatic Prodigies, Wander Franco Prismatic Prodigies.

Third, Topps Finest. Between the two mini-boxes, we ripped Walker Buehler Purple Parallel /250, David Peralta Purple Parallel /250. One of the best cards of the break, Pete Alonso Orange Parallel /25 appeared in the first box with Michael Kopech auto appearing in the second box. Others to note: Dawel Lugo auto, Gleyber Torres Refractor, Jake Bauers Refractor.

Fourth, Topps Inception. My personal favorite, the look of these cards are very clean. The Blue Jays cleaned up nabbing a Green Parallel (Sean Reid-Foley), Red Parallel (Ryan Borucki /75), and a Ryan Borucki /75 Pink Auto/Relic.

Fifth, Archives Signature. This was my first experience with this set. Essentially, they grab a Topps/Bowman card from the past, have the player sign it, and put a case on it. One box contains one card. We had two for this break (filling in for the Clearly Authentic) and pulled a Paul Goldschmidt /25 Bowman base autograph, and Jean Segura /28 Opening Day base.

Sixth, Tier One. The higher end of Topps product, featuring nothing but relics and autos. Pulled here was Luis Severino /375 jersey relic, Starling Marte bat relic /375, and Brandon Nimmo /250 auto. The big hit was a Cal Ripken Jr. autograph /50.

Finally, Museum. At one hit per pack, Topps keeps your attention as you are opening them. Joey Votto showed up as a Quad relic featuring two bat pieces and two jersey pieces /299. Also acquired were Jordan Hicks Triple Relic /299, Albert Alomora /50 jersey relic, and a cool Juan Soto Canvas Collection. Not to be forgotten was a Freddie Freeman Archival Autograph /99.

Others to note: Chipper Jones Bronze, Noah Syndergaard Blue /150, Trevor Bauer Ruby /50.

As Aaron could tell you, I am beyond excited for Topps Chrome which is our next break. Chrome is a must have for any collection. It drops Wednesday, July 31st. Be sure to hop in before it’s too late, spaces are going quick. PR

Thanks to everyone that joined the mixer! Who's ready for Topps Chrome???
